Robin J., Volunteer Committee Member

Comprised of community leaders, professionals, and alumni volunteers based in the Tri-state, the NYC Board of Trustees provides strategic oversight and governance for Alopecian Beauty Co. This executive committee ensures our mission is executed responsibly by guiding program development, establishing policy frameworks, and monitoring organizational impact. Meetings are held weekly via Zoom, offering trustees a platform to shape direction and maximize our influence in the region and nationwide.

Charged with planning, promotion, and execution of our flagship Atlanta event—the ALC Valor Gala—the ATL Gala Committee plays a critical role in fundraising and community engagement. Volunteers oversee venue logistics, sponsorship recruitment, ticket sales, auction management, décor, and volunteer coordination. The committee meets weekly, increasing in frequency during event season, to deliver a world-class experience that drives awareness and supports our programs.

This committee brings together experienced attorneys, CPAs, and financial advisors to strengthen our organizational infrastructure. Volunteers review and advise on nonprofit compliance, financial reporting, grant applications, contracts, and risk management. By leveraging this team’s legal and fiscal expertise, we ensure ethical stewardship and transparent operations across all programs and fundraising efforts.

The NYC Events Committee is the creative force behind Alopecian Beauty Co.'s signature events in New York City—including our annual Health Equity Runway Show, community forums, wellness pop-ups, and donor mixers. Committee members bring their expertise in event planning, public relations, fashion, fundraising, and hospitality to produce culturally relevant, impactful experiences that align with our mission.
Volunteers on this committee assist with venue selection, vendor coordination, sponsorship outreach, guest list management, community engagement, and on-site execution. Their efforts help elevate awareness around autoimmune conditions and ensure every NYC-based event is both memorable and mission-driven.
This committee is ideal for those with a passion for the arts, equity, advocacy, and event strategy in one of the world’s most dynamic cities.

This unique volunteer group focuses on client-centered care and holistic support for individuals affected by medical hair loss. The Empathy Committee collaborates with our Program Directors & Client Services team to lead wellness workshops, host peer support circles, and develop resources that nurture emotional resilience and community belonging.
A distinctive feature of this committee is the opportunity for select members to be considered as elected franchisee owners under Alopecian Beauty Co.'s emerging social franchise model.
These individuals will receive specialized training and leadership development, allowing them to expand our mission into new communities while gaining ownership of local outreach efforts. This path offers not only impact but also long-term empowerment, recognition, and potential economic benefit.
Empathy Committee members are change-makers committed to healing through compassion, advocacy, and sustainable leadership.

Bringing together sports enthusiasts, event planners, and media-savvy volunteers, this committee organizes celebrity-driven athletic events and campaigns—including the Celebrity Charity Basketball Game in ATL and sports-themed fundraising activities in multiple states. Volunteers secure celebrity ambassadors, handle logistics, media relations, ticketing, sponsorships, and on-site coordination to elevate awareness and impact in sport-based settings.

An innovative initiative celebrating bald male allies and board members who champion our cause, the Bald Men of Leadership Committee steers campaigns and initiatives such as awareness events, peer mentorship programs, confidence for our sisters who are undergoing hair loss and fundraising challenges. Volunteers on this team honor male advocacy in the autoimmune and alopecia community, amplifying our message through targeted outreach and leadership support.
