Elected Board Members Leadership Requirements Are:
The ability to listen and play well with others, commitment to the mission, have the time to commit, have professional contacts in the community, personal wealth or connections to others, desired skill set experience, and support board diversity.
Elected Board Members Leadership Requirements Include:
- The ability to listen and collaborate respectfully
- Commitment to the organization’s mission
- Adequate availability to fulfill responsibilities
- Possession of valuable community and professional contacts
- Personal financial capacity or access to donors and resources
- Relevant skill set and leadership experience
- A demonstrated commitment to board diversity and inclusion
New board members undergo a virtual orientation within 30 days of appointment, which includes a comprehensive review of bylaws, policies, organizational financials, strategic goals, committee roles, expectations, and a welcome packet. Additionally, a mentor board member is assigned to support the onboarding process and integration into the board culture.
